Lets simply imagine that I had a dream like this =
I was walking in a street where I saw three tall trees, yet they were not flourishing trees rather dried up trees without leaves (I felt dull about the trees) then I saw my fathers shop ahead, (about 100 meters away) and I had a feeling (rather a urge to go to the shop and see my father) yet I had a feeling that also said to be careful, and when I approached closer to the shop while still walking, all of a sudden I saw great fire coming out of my fathers shop, and felt scared and panicky, and start running towards to the shop.
Then I woke up.
Now if we were to see the hidden meaning, (and I know this is rather basic explanation and its actually more to it than what my words below state, but to do you a favor, I will go ahead and try to make you understand how to decipher it)
We first of all need to look at the whole dream as offering real meaning = caution and details of who or what to be thoughtful of (yet still positive) simply the trees within the dream a lifeless (as dried up, not so good for this particular dream) walking is flow forward in life as in future time (or near future time) feeling to go in to the shop to see my father, is surely related to my father, great fire coming out of the shop is a loss of sort (perhaps even business deal loss or trade of sort, fire will lessen matter in this dream (as we can even say the dry trees seen earlier are related to the fire, thus we can see it represents a loss within this particular dream, fire burning what's in the shop. Running towards the shop at the end of dream is again flow forward (yet its even in nearer future) perhaps days weeks or months, instead of years. And that I meant to speak this dream the morning I woke up, thus we trust, thus we make charity within asap. That dream I had was meant for me and my family never to be repeated again, and the meanings within can never be seen the same for any other dream I may have, make sense?
So first of all we must take the whole dream into account as one, knowing that each event can be seen in different light if we saw the similar single events in different dreams (as in if we saw a fire in a different dream and we walked on it, and it didn't burn us, then we can give meaning to it differently to fire (as in instead of saying it is a loss we can perhaps say it is a gain)
Therefore this is the first thing we must understand about dreams = the meanings can change (therefore dream interpretation contained within books must be thought of reference and not definite meaning, unless they have gone ahead and interconnected every meaning to one another in their every possible variables. As in if we saw; fire and ice and walked in it, and both felt good, = this could be gain type of meaning, or if felt hot and hurt then could be = thoughtful of things etc. see? yet these again are = could be's
And as for our dream earlier, that dream I had when I was eighteen years old, while I was visiting my family overseas and was staying with them, and told my father and I remember clearly, it was the morning I had the dream and we were having breakfast. Both my father and my mum looked surprised yet they both felt that dream I had was a cautionary one (and in our ways we simply make a donation to a fellow human who is in need of a kind donation) therefore that donation was made within the same day. And day is gone and we all went to sleep and later early in the morning about 2 am there was a knock on the door, as it was our neighbor who actually lived near my fathers shop, and came to our house woke us up (about 2 am) to tell us that there were thieves who tried to break in to my fathers shop, and he (neighbor) hearing noises woke up himself to find out thieves were breaking the wall through the empty adjacent shop. And then he went to investigate thus thieves saw him, and so they fled.
